10 Things I Learned While Working At A Startup
Working at a startup is like going on an exciting adventure that teaches you a lot of important things. The experience helps you grow as a person and in your job. From doing many different tasks to dealing with uncertainty, startups give you challenges and chances to learn new things fast.

I recently ended my journey working at a Lebanese startup called Kamkalima and here are some of the things that I learned during that journey:
1. Be Ready to Change: Startups change a lot. One day you might do development, and the next day you’re fixing computer problems. Being able to adapt to these changes is really important. It helps you get better at solving problems and learning new stuff.
2. Learn Many Skills: Startups don’t have a lot of people, so everyone has to do different jobs. This helps you learn many skills beyond what you know. Even though it can be hard, it’s great for becoming good at many things and understanding how everything in a company works together.
3. Be Creative: Startups don’t always have a lot of money or time. This makes people think in creative ways to solve problems. Being creative helps you come up with new ideas, not just for the startup but also for your future jobs.
4. Failing is Okay: Startups sometimes fail in certain areas, but that’s not bad. Failing can help you learn and do better next time. Startups encourage you to try new things, take risks, and learn from mistakes. This makes you better at your job.
5. Decide Faster: Startups work fast, so decisions are made quickly. You learn how to make choices faster, even if you don’t have all the information. This skill is helpful in any job.
6. Care About Customers: Startups care a lot about customers. Talking to customers and understanding their problems helps a lot. This teaches you to think about customers in everything you do.
7. Make Friends and Partners: In startups, making friends with your boss, mentors, and customers is important. These connections can help you work together, get money, and grow. These friends can help you in your career and life.
8. Be Strong When Things are Uncertain: Startups can be unsure sometimes. Things can change in the market, and new competitors can appear. This teaches you to be strong and not give up when things are uncertain. It’s a skill that helps you in your job and life.
9. Take Responsibility: In startups, your work matters a lot. You learn to be responsible and do your job well. This helps you work hard and solve problems.
10. Manage Your Time: Startups have many things to do. Learning to manage your time and do the most important things first is a big lesson. It helps you get things done in any job.
Notice that I mentioned “Solving Problems” a lot in the above points. That’s because startups care about solving business problems on a day-to-day basis.
To sum up, startups teach you many valuable things. They help you change, learn new skills, and become better at solving problems. The lessons you learn in startups are not just good for your job, but also for your personal growth. So, working in a startup is like an investment in yourself that pays off for a long time.
